TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa construction worker was killed after a concrete slab fell on him at a job site.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, crews were replacing a seawall at terminal six of Port Tampa Bay on Friday.
Around 6:30 a.m., a concrete slab weighing around 3,000 pounds, or one-and-a-half tons, broke off and crushed the 27-year-old worker.
He was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
OHSA is investigating the incident.
